The short hand of these watches point to the inner dial which displays the hours.

The minute hand points to the specially designed, two coloured outer dial.

The red half of the dial displays to time in minutes 'PAST' the hour, whilst the blue half of the dial displays the number of minutes 'TO' the hour.

From the image to the right here, it is easy to see that the time is actually 10 minutes to 2 o'clock.
